We are looking for an experienced Network system administrator to join our IT department. Network and computer systems administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of these networks. As a Network system administrator, you will be responsible for the backup and restoration of systems and servers, as well as provide system administration.
Determine an organization’s system needs and install network hardware and software Make needed upgrades and repairs to networks and ensure that systems are operating correctly Maintain network and computer system security Evaluate and optimize network or system performance Add users to a network, and assign and update security permissions on the network Train users and clients in the proper use of hardware and software Interpret and solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts them that a problem exists Assist as required in the design and analysis of network models Assist as required in decisions about buying future software and hardware
Certificate or University Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science 3+ years experience as a Network System Administrator or similar role Knowledge and adherence to ITIL best practices for execution of Incident/Request/Change Management. Firewall Management Tools
Routing Protocol Expertise DNS implementation Security architecture and technologies Networking protocol expertise Network security systems IP address structure Excellent written and verbal communication. Team player, great interpersonal and communication skills Ability to organize and plan work independently. Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment. This position requires the successful completion of a criminal (and credit) background check. This role is remote but candidates who are eligible work in Canada and the US will be preferred.
