Details:

The Senior DBA position will be responsible for maintaining the company’s database systems such as MS
SQL Server and Oracle. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity
and the performance of the company databases and guarantee the data is stored securely and efficiently.
This role requires ability to work in various projects with team members from multiple disciplines as well to
be involved in the planning and development of the database systems in a complex environment.
Responsibilities
 Manage Oracle/SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from
development to mission-critical production systems.
 Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health
and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability (Windows Failover Cluster,
Always-On, Oracle RAC), and security.
 Ability to automate repetitive tasks by using PowerShell, PHP and other scripting tools.
 Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-
end.
 Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
 Ensures strategic design, implementation, and documentation of current and future projects within
Database environments.
 Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
 Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
 Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
 Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other
peers and team members.
 All other duties as required.



Job Requirements

Details:

Required skills/experience

 5+years Oracle / MS SQL Server Database administration experience required.
 Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and
troubleshooting tools.
 Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
 Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server and Oracle.
 Experience working with Windows/Linux servers, including PL/SQL/T-SQL and PowerShell/Shell.
 Knowledge and adherence to ITIL best practices for execution of Incident/Request/Change
Management.
 Working knowledge & experience on Cloud Computing like Azure/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure/WS.
 Excellent written and verbal communication.
 Team player, great interpersonal and communication skills
 Ability to organize and plan work independently.
 Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
 Ability to context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
 MCTS, MCITP, OCP certifications would be considered an asset.
Other details
 This position requires the successful completion of a criminal (and credit) background check.
 This role is remote but candidates who are eligible work in Canada and the US will be preferred.
